Volunteer FAQs
What is The Listening Garden?
The Listening Garden is a new community project designed to create a natural sanctuary where people can recharge, connect with nature, and find calm. We are currently in the process of registering as a charity with the Charity Commission. This process can take up to 12 weeks.
Where will the gardens be located?
Our plan is to establish The Listening Garden in Hampshire, in a location that is accessible by public transport and welcoming for all visitors.
Can I volunteer before the gardens are officially open?
Yes! We welcome volunteers at all stages of development. From planning and fundraising to promotion and early groundwork, there are plenty of ways to get involved before the physical gardens are ready.
4. Do I need any special skills or gardening experience to volunteer?
Not at all. Whether you’re a keen gardener, someone who enjoys community projects, or simply want to support our mission, there are opportunities for everyone.
What kind of volunteer roles are available?
Roles may include:
- Creative contributions (such as events, marketing, or design)
- Gardening and grounds preparation
- Fundraising and community outreach
- Administrative support
How much time do I need to commit?
We are grateful for any time you can give. Some volunteers help regularly, while others support us occasionally for specific projects or events.
Will I need to pay anything to volunteer?
No. Volunteering is free. We provide any necessary training, and we aim to cover costs for essential materials when required.
Can groups or businesses volunteer together?
Yes! We encourage local groups, schools, and businesses to get involved. Group volunteering days are a great way to make an impact and strengthen community connections.
How will I know when The Listening Garden officially becomes a registered charity?
We will share updates on our website and social media once our registration is complete. Until then, we are operating as a charity in development.
How do I sign up to volunteer?
Simply fill in our volunteer interest form on the website, or email us directly. We’ll be in touch to discuss the best way for you to get involved.
